Here is what our little 3 month old is up to:
o Still eating 4 oz every 3 hours
o Sleeping through the night—she has been since 7 weeks. She occasionally wakes up around anywhere from 1-3 am fussing but she is still sleeping and putting the paci back in does the trick.
o Still a breast-fed baby, but for some reason Mommy’s milk is not doing so good anymore, so we have had to start supplementing with some formula L
o Loves to smile and talk (and makes the cutest little sounds) J
o Loves to go to sleep with her lovies (or anything soft) around her face—she wants her face covered—don’t worry this is only allowed for naps where we are watching her or in the car and then we take them off of her once she is asleep. She can be screaming crying and if you give her something to cover her face, she immediately stops crying and falls fast asleep.
o I had her at the Dr. last week as she has had a little cough and congestion and they weighed her (with all her clothes on) and said she is 10 lbs 13 oz (she is still so little though and most don’t believe me that she is 3 months old) and 25 ½ inches long.
o She rolled over for the 2nd time on her 3 month birthday—don’t worry I caught it all on camera and will blog about that in a bit.
o She is such a little ham and keeps us laughing and entertained. She sure knows when to turn that charm on (especially with her daddy)—When she is supposed to be sleeping and he is putting her down at night and talking to her, she will so sweetly just start smiling at him behind her paci and he just melts.
o She is a little mess and is still always sooo active. When we watch her on the monitor in the mornings N calls her a “fish out of water”…this little busy-body does not sit still for anything. Well, I take that back a couple of times we have caught her trying to watch TV and boy is she soo still. We do not allow her to watch TV (I have read a lot of research and it has shown that TV viewing before the age of 2 contributes to ADD & ADHD (since their little brains cannot process the flashing images which there are 1,000’s of images per second that flash on TV), so we try to not let her see it).
o Her 2 newest tricks up her sleeve include: arching her back (feet and shoulders planted and back arched up) while we are trying to change her diaper or put her in her car-seat—ugh! Little mess! Her other little trick is that she does not want to lay down ever (even in her bouncy) she balls her fists up and pulls her upper body up at the same time she is pulling her feet up and she is just left on her butt-like she is doing crunches and leg lifts at the same time and she will just sit like that. Don’t know where she gets all this determination from. ;)
o Loves to stand up instead of sit—when I try to sit her up on her changing table to button her back buttons or brush her hair she locks her legs and only will stand and you can’t make her sit.
o Holds her head up so well now that I can carry her around on my hip now without very much support.
o Puts everything in her mouth—EVERYTHING! If her paci is not in there, it is her fists, lovies, my shoulder, the feather boa in the photo shoot, etc. If you can’t tell by the pictures she also drools A LOT. It is just the beginning stages of teething, so we still have a long time of this. J
o Has such a cute shy smile in the mornings. She is soo happy in the mornings and when we pick her up and keep talking to her she covers her face with her fists or buries her smile into our shoulders—sooo stinking cute! J
We fall more in love with her everyday and cannot believe that a year ago this month she was already being formed into the perfect little being that she is! God truly blessed us with this little angel! J
