One Month Old

How time flies!  My baby girl was 4 weeks old last Monday (October 17) and 1 month old last Wednesday (October 19)!  WOW! I cannot believe it!  She is getting so big and it is sooo sad that even though she was soo teeny tiny when we brought her home (5lbs 13 oz) we had to pack away several of her newborn outfits this past weekend. TEAR! L
She had her 1 month check-up on Monday (10/17) when she was 4 weeks old.  She weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs 3.5 oz (2 pounds more than her birth weight! And she was just 6 lbs 12 oz 2 weeks ago at her 2 week appt.) and is 21 inches long.  She definitely is starting to feel heavier too.  Everything checked out great and Dr. once again said she is looking and doing “perfect”!  Yay!  Such a great baby! J  All of my questions/concerns were no big deal and we have a healthy/happy baby on our hands!  No shots or blood work this time (and we have already had 3 appts. 1 every 2 weeks) and now we don’t have to go back until her 2 month appt. where she will have several vaccinations…L
She is really starting to smile a lot!  She loves to smile for me in the morning when I wake her and loves to smile at anyone talking to her.
She is the most strong willed baby I have ever seen.  She is stronger than she should be at this age (even the Dr. commented on her strength/muscle tone)…she tries to pull up on our hands, holds her head up for long periods looking around at everything, pulls her knees under her to scoot around on tummy time, and has even rolled over once (at 2 weeks old…I will not let her attempt it again at this point because it scared me so much!)  She thinks she is WAY bigger than she really is! J  She is really head-strong and even stubborn…not sure where she gets that… JJJJ  She definitely has a temper and lets you know if she is not happy or what she wants.
She is really tracking things with her eyes and is grabbing for toys on her changing table, our clothes, blankets, etc.
She has even perfected the “pouty lip” cry so well and it looks oh so pitiful and usually results in her getting picked up and the crying to stop. J  She used to just cry but now she makes the most pitiful face and drops that lower lip and all you can do is feel sorry for her. LOL!
We are finally starting to get out and about a little more now.  We are still cautious about her being around too many people though as her immune system is still developing.
Daddy, Grams, & Grumps have all gotten to feed her now.  With her starting school next week she had to be able to take a bottle, so Mommy has been pumping and letting her drink out of a bottle when others are around.  SHe is taking the bottle like a champ and has even become lazy when nursing from Mommy as she has to work harder on me than she does on the bottle. :)
Here are some picures of our one month old cutie pie! :)
