Just because...

Just because she is mine and I think she is oh-so stinkin cute—and the reality is there is no denying her either—her personality (even though I never admit to my husband or mom) J  is like mine—stubborn, strong willed, a little impatient at times (although she is ALWAYS impatient which has her daddy written all over ).  Most even claims she looks just like I did—I see her changing so much though that I am not so sure anymore…

Check out all that drool...

I took Paislyn to the Dr. Monday.  We took her back in December for this little cough she had.  Of course it was “nothing” and just told us to continue the saline drops we already had been using.  It never went away but did get better those 2 weeks I was home with her.  As soon as she went back to school it flared right back up.  It got really BAD Sunday night and she could not sleep and I was up with her at 2:15 on and could not go back to sleep because of the terrible noises she was making—talk about a rough way to start the week—especially a week that I was to be formally evaluated—UGH!
I got her in on Monday—she weighs 11 lbs 13 oz (I say it is a few ounces less as they weighed her fully clothed with paci and paci strap all on her).  The Dr. said she sounded congested but her lungs sounded fine—we did a chest X-Ray to be sure.  Well, of course she never coughed when the Dr. was in there-and as her mommy I have noticed how the cough has changed.  Well when they sent us back for x-ray she started hacking up her lungs and luckily the Dr. heard her and said it sounded like an RSV cough but her X-rays came out clear as well.  She said to expect it to get worse around day 5-6 then hopefully get better.  We are just to continue saline drops, baby vicks on chest, and let her sleep sitting up (YAY! She is back to sleeping right in front of me where I can watch her the 100’s of times I am up to check on her.  It makes me feel more re-assured).  She slept GREAT again last night other than her coughing but she never actually woke up.
We go next week for her 4 month check up and I have found a pediatrician in Sugar Land we are switching to…yay! This was our plan from the get-go, then decided to stick local for her benefit (the poor baby will now have to endure a drive if she is sick, but I believe her health (and mommy’s emotional reassurance) is worth it).
Pray it goes away and she can stay healthy through this crazy cold season!  Thanks!
