As I mentioned before we switched Pediatricians...her first appt. was this past Friday for her 4 month check-up, but was also a sick baby visit. The nurse noticed how bad her cough was right away. She asked if she had been tested for RSV and quickly started the test. Our new Dr. came in and also heard the cough. She also said she was wheezing....well it confirmed everything this momma thought (but another dr. kept denying). Her RSV test did come back negative but the Dr. was not happy with how she sounded so she ordered us to have a breathing treatment right then and there to help her breathe. We did that and the Dr. thought it seemed to help the way her lungs sounded. She went ahead and got her vaccines (since she did not have RSV or a fever)....and she took them like a champ!! Eveything else on her checked out just fine and we had a prescription to get filled for breathing treatments at home. It does not surprise me that she is having lung/respiratory problems. N and I both had asthma as kids and still get respiratory infections. I am just glad we finally have something we can do for her to feel like we are helping...we are also to keep doing the saline drops, vicks, sleeping up-right, etc.
We loved the new Pedi so far....Thank you Lord! She also wants to see P in a week (next Friday) to make sure her lungs are clearing up and that she is okay....she will also be getting her ears pierced this visit!! YAY!! I absolutely cannot wait but did not want to traumatize her any more last Friday since she had her shots then too...
Here we are doing our first breathing treatment at home on Friday night...poor baby!
Poor baby girl...Dr. Dimmick said it sounded like Brody had a touch of RSV but it wasn't anything to worry about. He still coughs a little but he is finally over all his other stuff.
