4 months

It has been 4 fun months since this sweet little thing graced us with her presence!

I do not have her stats as her appt. is not until next week (I did  not want to make 2 trips and they both have checkups this month and the earliest they could fit both of them in together is next week) so I will post those later.
She is wearing size 2 diapers and will be moving to 6 month clothes shortly.  She is too long for most of her 3 month clothes already even though they still fit everywhere else.  She is long and lean.
She is still exclusively breastfed! YAY! J  I have made the executive decision to not start rice cereal this month (They usually advise it at 4 months and that is what we did with P).  Since she is still only breastfed she does not need to begin anything else this soon.  Also, researching it and there is NO (none, whatsoever) benefit of it and it is actually rough on babies tummies….so I will have a definite plan in the near future but am planning to just wait until 5 or 6 months and begin with whole grain oatmeal and then make some purees.  We shall see???  With the first baby you do what the Dr’s and everyone else say to do.  This second time around I am doing more of my own research and making my own decisions about our child’s health….I feel I am so much more educated this way as well.
She CAN roll over but does not do it very often.  She will get oh so close and then just hang out for a while on her side.
She is a HAPPY baby!  She usually only fusses when hungry or very tired.  She is calmer than P was and she is able to just hang out for a while and does not freak out too much in public. She still prefers me to hold her over anyone else (YAY!!  P is all about daddy so hopefully B will be my mommy’s girl—for a little while at least.) J  She has the biggest little crooked smile that will melt your heart!
She is such a little TALKER.  She coos and coos at us when we are looking at her and then just smiles.  She has a shy little smile she tries to cover up…it is the sweetest thing!  SHe also just started blowing little spit bubbles.  CUTE!
She has an adorable little belly laugh!!  I love hearing her laugh and I can make her laugh the most.  She does not give out laughs for many others.  Her little tickle spot is on her upper chest or right around her neck.
She does not like her feet being touched (by others)…I think they are ticklish too! J  As you can see from the pictures though she loves to grab her feet and play.
She keeps her little fists in her mouth all the time.  She is usually a slobbery mess! LOL!  Her arms/hands usually still have the “boxing position” going on…..she always looks ready to fight!
She does not like to go from being held to being laid down.  She puckers that lip and starts crying when you lay her down after you have been holding her.
She will sleep in the car but she is just like her momma and will wake up when she senses we have reached our destination.  If we go somewhere she does not like to stay in the car-seat.  She wants out and in on the action.
She grabs ANYTHING & EVERYTHING!  She has a STRONG grip too.  Once she grabs something it is hard to get her to let go.  She always likes to be holding something too….preferably my finger or a lovey.  She swats at her toys to get them to move and play music.
She still does a good job sleeping through the night for the most part.  We have had about 3 weeks or so where once or twice a week she wants to be fed around 2-3 ish….pretty just much about where she goes back to sleep when it is time for me to wake up so momma has been lacking in the sleep department lately! She has transitioned exceptionally well moving into her own room and into her crib.  I think her crib is way more cozy and she does roll around a lot at night and does a lot of 360’s but sleeps well and wakes up happy.
She is such a water baby and throws herself around to splash in her baby bath-tub.

In honor of her 4 month birthday we put her in her little Exersaucer yesterday to try it out.  I thought she still would be too small but she was very content for about 10 minutes just looking at all the toys and grabbing for them.

These were so funny I couldn't just pick one to post! :)

Here is Paislyn at 4 months....

Sweet Baby Breckyn—Mommy, Daddy, & Paislyn love you soo very much and even though we have only been able to hold you and play with you for 4 months, we can’t even remember what our house was like before you were here (it’s crazy!).  You are such a happy and bubbly little baby and we wish you would slow down for a little while so we can continue to enjoy you as a tiny baby! J

(And what a difference a year makes.....it has been one year this week since we had the sweet surprise of finding out we were pregnant with this adorable baby girl....what a pleasant surprise she was!)
