5 months

Well, we are finally pretty much well around here now (praying we stay that way!).  I did have to take off and stay home with her again since the last post, but I called Dr. and we put her back on breathing treatments—she took the last one this past Friday afternoon.  They said this nasty cough will just linger for a while.  Hopefully it leaves us soon & doesn’t come back! J

Baby girl turned 5 months old today!!!  (Tear!)  Man I just cannot believe how much she has grown, changed, and developed in 5 short months.  She becomes more and more fun each and every day and we feel more blessed every day as well.

At 5 months we are…..

Drinking 5-6    5 oz bottles/day

Eating rice cereal in the a.m.

On our 5 month birthday we added oatmeal cereal to the mix—we will get oatmeal for our night meal now instead of rice cereal

Still wearing 3 month clothes (except our night sleepers are 6 mos since she is soo long)

Still Size 1 diapers

Likes tummy and back time…pushes up on her arms on tummy time and is starting to pull her little legs under her on tummy time—the beginning stages of crawling…such a little stinker

Still prefers to stand over lay down

Loves to sit up all the time….can sit for short periods on her own

Prefers to chew her fingers/hands over toys…plays with toys but won’t chew them even if we put them in her mouth

Loves any musical toys--loves her My Pal Violet

Smiley, smiley, smiley—such a GOOD baby

Rolls both ways—ALL the time

Has been sleeping in her rock-n-play for 2 months now with all of her cough/congestion but we actually let her lay down again last night—in the pack-n-play right beside mommy like she has been in the rock-n-play (due to Mommy’s ever increasing anxiety-more on that later)

Still LOVES to cover her face—we don’t cover it anymore to get her to sleep like we used to have to, she covers it on her own whenever she has something in her hands—gives me a heart attack every time!

Holds her bottles sometimes—she always has her hands on it, but she forgets she is holding it and then pulls it and can’t get it back in

Still puts herself to sleep

Turns on that charm and acts shy when she smiles, she covers her eyes with her hands or buries her face in our shoulder—it is so stinkin cute!

Arches her back and tries to get out of the car-seat when we put her in it

I am guessing she is around 13 pounds

Talks all the time—more like squeals/screeches ALL the time….her voice is soo cute and sweet when she is talking, then she starts squealing and all we can do is shake our head and laugh—church is getting interesting

Tries to sit up all the time (looks like she is doing crunches) and if you give her your fingers she will pull herself up

I “think” she is finally starting to get over a little of her stranger anxiety/overwhelmed when we go somewhere phase—she usually freaks out when we get somewhere with a crowd and it is hard to calm her down, but she is getting better—she used to cry everyday when I left her at school too but now is doing better

She is still sooo observant--she likes to be up and seeing everything--she takes everything in

AND on her 5 month b-day, my best friend Kim had her baby, Fisher Bland….he is a big boy & has some super cute little cheeks.  We cannot wait to meet & play with P’s new boyfriend!  Congrats Kim & john!! J
