Well since Little Miss is all about rolling over these days we had to break the swaddle at Christmas....(remember at first we did not swaddle, but then once we did she started sleeping through the night...) and we were oh so worried about how that was going to go. Since she is such a wiggle worm, she never gets much rest as she keeps herself up with her flailing arms and legs. The swaddle kept her slightly contained and meant better nights for all of us.
This is how we used to put her to bed.
But this is how we would find her in the morning--completely different spot, direction, sometimes even 360 degrees diferent....oh how this momma started worrying even MORE. She was doing all this moving in her swaddle just by lifting her legs up and down....this kid! :)
This is her "I'm free" pose she would get in in the mornings when I would undo the swaddle....and all with a HUGE smile on her face.
Stretching.....
Then she would roll up on her side and almost make it to her tummy each time....we would watch her on the monitor like this every night--each time almost making it completely over. That was too much for this already paranoid momma to handle. Off came the swaddle. Luckily Santa brought her some sleep sacks so we went straight into those and she wakes up more now than she used to. She just fusses and cries (but never really wakes up) and thrashes her arms and legs around. We get up and put her paci back in and she settles down for a bit until her flailing arms knock the paci out again and it all starts over. :)
She is so comfy now that she can sleep on her side (which she does every night) and covers her face with the next best thing-her hands.
N likes to watch her at night and thinks it is so cute that she sleeps like "we" do.... :) She is just growing way too fast!!!!
