WOW! I know I have said this before but OMG this pregnancy is flying by…I think back to December when this all began and I am already sad at how fast time is going to fly once the baby is actually here…I know they grow up sooo fast and that already depresses me! L
We had our childbirth class on Saturday…it was good. It was nice to be around 12 other couples that were all pregnant and due around the same time as us. The funny thing was in EC EVERYONE has been having girls. At our class, 1 other couple is going to be surprised like us, 2 are having girls, and the other 8 couples are all having BOYS! WOW!
It was more of just a lot of information and not a lot of practicing (which I was hoping it would be). I have always been interested in childbirth, labor, delivery, etc. and used to want to go into that field. I have read SOOO many books and during the summer all I watch on TV is TLC (Baby Story, Baby’s First Day, Bringing Baby Home, etc.) so no new information was presented to me at the class. I know I will probably regret knowing so much about all of this when I am actually in labor and at the hospital, but oh well, it interests me. What I did like about the class was the hospital tour of the L & D floor. Yes, I have been admitted 2X this pregnancy, but they were both on the bottom floor at Labor & Delivery Testing & Observation. They showed us exactly where to go when I am in labor, and all of the different rooms we will be in—Labor & Delivery Room, OR (For C-Sections), Post-Partum Recovery Room, Permanent Room where we will reside for a couple of days/nights, Nursery, NICU, etc. We also got to see all of the different tools, epidural line, etc. that will or could be used on you or the baby during and after delivery. Getting to actually touch and see those was helpful. We have our breast-feeding class next weekend and I am looking forward to that one as well.
In other baby news—I called the day-care on Friday and we are number one on the list right now but GUARANTEED a spot as they move out the babies when they turn 18 months old and even if I deliver way early and need a spot before our tentative date of November 1, they will move out the baby closest to 18 months a little early if needed. YAY! J All of that is a go! Even though it breaks my heart already to think about having to leave our little one at day-care, and not be able to stay home with the little angel, I am comforted knowing that it is what we have to do and at least I know we will be leaving the baby in GREAT hands! AND I am only maybe 2 miles away at school if they need me! J
Here is a 30 week picture of the little one after a LONG day of sitting in childbirth class! J The little one is growing more and more each and every day, and although that means more and more discomfort for me, knowing that he or she is so healthy makes us both sooo HAPPY!! J
