WOW!! Time sure flies the second time around (or it could just be I am sooo busy with Paislyn, work, party planning, and life in general) and we are already over 2/3 of the way to meeting our next sweet addition to our family! I started my 2nd trimester 2 weeks ago and I am down to 11 weeks left until our little one arrives.
I say it every time, but oh my goodness this poor second child. I never even blogged about my 6 month appt. and my 7 month appt. already came and went. Let’s just say I “finally” put on some weight--just a couple pounds (not sure how it took that long because I am definitely BIG this time around). After looking at my notes from Paislyn’s pregnancy I am lighter-pound wise, but I am sure looking bigger-so I guess it is all just proportioned differently this time around.
I am definitely starting to get a LOT more uncomfortable, daily tasks are getting harder, kicks/pokes/jabs are definitely getting stronger, andI am getting VERY worn out each day just from being a mom, wife, teacher, etc.
Baby has been looking/sounding great. Heart rate is very similar to Paislyn and I am measuring right on track. I go back in 2.5 weeks and then every 2 weeks after and then down to every single week. All of my appts are scheduled and it is really getting close. J
Physically I am sooo ready to have this baby, but I want him or her to keep baking in there as long as possible! However, on or a few days before the due date won’t hurt my feelings (unlike my little Princess who made us wait until after her due dateJ). I know life will be sooo much MORE chaotic with another baby, BUT I can’t wait to run and chase P and play with her without hurting, getting out of breath, etc. J and finding out if we will be gaining another daughter or a sweet son.
I had my Glucose test at the last appointment and I passed. YAY! I was sweating this one as I have not been quite as good nutritionally as I was last time.
Although I have good luck in the “sickness” part during my pregnancies, I believe my “pain/hurts” more than make up for it. With Paislyn I had horrible round ligament pains throughout the entire pregnancy (which just steadily got worse). This time I have developed varicose veins (in some very unsuspecting/painful places that I will not go into detail about J). Wow!!! They hurt a lot! My Dr. has already mentioned bed-rest as the only way to help keep them under control/me comfortable—they will only stay under control if I am off of my feet and laying flat—they are horribly swollen by then end of the day and I am feeling tons of pain/pressure. However since they are not doing any harm at this point (until possibly delivery—a possibility is I will not be able to deliver naturally again as I did last time because of their location—can’t tell until we get a little closer) I am hoping she will let me work until delivery. I plan to stay home much longer this time than I did last time and I want to use all of that time when the baby is actually here. I get the usual “rest as much as you can, stay off your feet"…..yeah right!! I have a SUPER ACTIVE 1 week shy of a 1 year old! J) How can I rest and actually sit/lay down when she is running around and into everything?!?!?!
And just for the record, Nathan is convinced there is a “big ole boy” growing in there (his words), but I am thinking it is another little girl. Doesn’t matter either way…we are blessed! We just want a healthy happy sweet little baby!
