The Drapela Family: Summer Fun @ Splashway

Yesterday we had a FABULOUS family day and headed to Splashway. Now, it took quite a bit of convincing on my part to get N to agree to take off and take P to Splashway. He knew I really wanted to go and thought she was way too young to remember so why pay all the money to take her. I told him "you know how much she will LOVE splashing in the water and the sheer joy on her face". He agreed saying "I know she will love it and seeing how much fun she will have makes me say yes". We discussed her only being an only child for 4 more short months....this was something we could do just for her. We headed out around lunch (we first had to try and find a "safe/healthy" sunscreen for her--our plans changed suddenly to Wed. instead of Friday so he forgot to go to Whole Foods to find something....we finally halfway succeeded in EC (only to have to buy a different kind once we got to splashway...oh well!) We have never put sunscreen on her we just keep her out of the sun...1. her daddy is against putting any of that on her skin, 2. with her already there skin issues we did not know if her skin would be okay with it.....

We spent about 3 1/2 hours there and OH.MY.GOODNESS we had a GREAT DAY!! The sheer excitement in her eyes and the enormous smile on her face were totally worth every penny we had to pay to get in and every ounce of sweat we put into packing, etc. She splashed to her heart's content, tried to crawl in the waves, ended up with her face underwater more than once, and tried to be WAY too brave for my comfort level! :) N even commented when we got home what a great day we had and how much fun P had. Although she will never remember this trip we took for her we know in our hearts we did it for her and that she enjoyed every second of it! :)
