Our third week got better. After all of my pain (from third degree tears and lacerations from labor, internal and external bruising, lots of stitches, and other not so glorious things that happened from giving birth) I finally started feeling better and being able to walk and sit better. That at least put me in a little better mood. The week went good…lots more visitors and meals. J Monday morning she had her 2 week check-up. At this appt. they wanted her back up to her birth weight since she had lost so much of it. Well she exceeded it. J Mom went with me to the appt. and it was a LONG One. My morning was crazy to say the least trying to get out the door, but we made it. The Dr. took forever but she checked out GREAT—everything was perfect! My fear that I was not producing enough milk and starving my child was found to not be true as she weighed in at a whopping 6 lbs 12 oz. WOW!! GO baby girl! She then had to have blood samples taken. This was HORRIBLE! They had to cut her foot 2X as she would not bleed. It took over 15 minutes of my holding her and her screaming while her foot was poked and squeezed repeatedly. It was hard on me and mom!! Poor baby wore herself out from crying so much and finally fell asleep and had a blow-out on mommy’s lap. We had to strip her down completely at the Dr. and change everything before we could even leave. What an adventure—thank goodness my mom went with me! The rest of the week was good, nothing too exciting to report.
Her yucky cord finally fell off on Friday night (10/7) so she was able to have a real bath that weekend. YAY! She was not a big fan!
Just some more cute pictures to share! J
